User Problem
People love to go traveling to see new places and experience different cultures. When people travel, they’re not just running around the block; they're on a journey.
The problem is what clothes or footwear to carry when you are traveling to a new place or when you are not aware of the destination's weather, the dressing sense in foreign places, and various other reasons.
Storyboarding
Storyboarding helped me to walk in the shoes of our users and see the products in a similar light. This helped me understand existing scenarios of interaction, as well as test hypotheses about potential scenarios.
Here, the storyboard gives me a clear picture of how confused the user gets when it comes to packing for their trip.
Understanding the flow
User flows in UX design helped me to keep in mind that we solve real problems of real people.
A well-thought-out UX flow helps to identify and get rid of the bottlenecks, pain points, and steps that may confuse clients and cause problems on their way to completing the task.
Here I came up with the flow for travelNStyle so as to avoid any last-minute confusion and could give a smooth user flow.

Creating a Solution
Sketching was an effective way of communicating design while allowing me to try out a multitude of ideas and iterating over multiple ideas before I could be settled on one.
By sketching the sentiment I drew screens to understand the user journey. It helped me capture a complex problem in a simple insightful and engaging way.
Low Fidelity Wireframes
These low-tech designs helped me visualize each screen's layout and experience user flows. This helped me test my design concept rather than focusing on the visual appearances
High Fidelity Prototype
After creating the low-fi wireframe, I went on to create a realistic app which would give a meaningful experience to the users.
User 1- Booking a flight

-
In the video, a user is booking a flight from Seattle to Boston
Flow 2- Wardrobe scanning and suggestions

-
Now that the user has booked the flight, now it's time to help him pack
-
He has a guide which will tell him what to carry. Upon scanning the wardrobe, we would have a list of recommendations on what he should pack based on various criteria
Flow 3- Link with Shopping Sites

-
I think we need to be honest here, even the most powerful AI would not be able to identify every item inside the closet
-
So I gave the user another option to link their shopping websites
-
Based on the shopping history, we would have a list of recommendations on what he should pack based on various criteria
Usability testing is a technique used in user-centered interaction design to evaluate a product by testing it on users. This can be seen as an irreplaceable usability practice since it gives direct input on how real users use the system.
-
I gave some missions to the users and then saw how they do it with the help of unmoderated testing.
-
The video on the left shows how users interact with the application, their excitement when something innovative they see, and their frustration when something doesn’t work the way they thought.
User Testing
Takeways
Impact
-
Users liked the idea of an app guiding them to pack for their trips.
-
They found the app to be simple and intuitive.
-
They said, “It’s a pretty innovative idea and could save time.”
-
One of the users loved the button design and said that these buttons look like buttons. They can click easily.
-
Link with the shopping site option was the most liked as users started smiling and looking at it.
Improvements
-
The last page needed a connection as it was challenging for them to return to the packing option page.
-
One of the users felt that the wardrobe scan option would invade his personal space. As he would be going out, the app will have a picture of his belongings, with all the privacy restrictions. He would be hesitant to use that option.
-
The Book button was not visible.
-
Some of the languages on the buttons were not clear.
Recommendations
-
The book button needed to be moved a little up for the users to see it correctly.
-
Some of the users are looking forward to using this app.
-
Change the language of some buttons.
-
Overall Experience was good and clear! Users got the idea of an advanced technology-friendly lifestyle!
